Residents of the Sont in Hoofddorp, where there was an explosion last night, are not yet allowed to return home. There may still be explosive material present in the home where the explosion took place. The Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) is investigating.
The block of the house where the explosion occurred, plus several adjacent houses, were evacuated last night. In total there are fewer than ten homes. “But of course it remains a nasty situation for the residents,” a police spokesperson emphasizes.
It is not yet clear when the residents can go home. Because there is still a risk of explosion, the EOD is still present in the home to investigate. The police are also investigating. The house was declared a crime scene last night. It is not yet clear what exactly exploded. “But in any case it is not a gas leak,” the spokesperson said.
