Street art in Beernem brightens up the Tour of Flanders course
The Tour of Flanders will return to Bruges this weekend. After six years of absence, the riders will start again on Sunday at the Markt to cycle towards the hilly zone in the Flemish Ardennes. Artists have been busy here and there along the course to welcome the Ronde.
Artists have also been at work in Beernem, one of the villages of the Ronde. Just before the bridge over the canal in Sint-Jorisstraat is a cycling portrait of Sven Vanthourenhout. The national coach of the Belgian cycling team is immortalized on the asphalt. Street artist Wietse has tackled a facade in Assebroek in Bruges. Three riders dock over the cobblestones and soon welcome the peloton.
