James Bond 007: No Time To Die (Sky) – from June 3rd
Just in time for the Pentecost weekend, Sky has a real blockbuster on offer with “James Bon 007: No time to die”. The really last Bond strip with Daniel Craig as a secret agent ends up with a streaming provider for the first time. Bond has to face his past in this film, as does his love Madeleine Swann (Léa Seydoux), who is keeping a dark secret. Can Bond trust her? And what does it have to do with the mysterious mask wearer who threatens humanity with a bioweapon? And what can the new 007 (Lashana Lynch) who joined after Bond left MI6?
The Boy’s Life (Disney+) – from June 1st
Single mother Caroline (Ellen Barkin) lives alone with her son Tobias (Leonardo DiCaprio) in the 1950s; the two often move. When Caroline meets Dwight (Robert De Niro), who has three children of his own, the man initially gives her stability and the two get married. However, Dwight quickly turns out to be violent and he likes to take his anger out on Tobias.
This Is Us Season 6 (Disney+ and Amazon Prime Video) – out June 1st
The award-winning drama series enters its final round. The focus is on the Pearson family: the two parents Rebecca (Mandy Moore) and Jack Pearson (Milo Ventimiglia) and their children Kate (Chrissy Metz), Kevin (Justin Hartley) and Randall (Sterling K. Brown), who is adopted by the family became. The series tells of the love, life and work of the family over two time levels. Before Winter Comes (Amazon Prime Video) – from June 3rd
Neurosurgeon Paul (Daniel Auteuil) and his wife Lucie (Kristin Scott Thomas) have been married for 30 years. However, when Paul meets the young and mysterious Lou and is suddenly sent red roses every day, his life falls apart.
Chocolat – Just a Bite (Joyn) – Coming June 6th
A real feel-good classic is coming to the Joyn streaming service for the Pentecost weekend: “Chocolat”. In a sleepy French town in the 1950s, Vianne (Juliette Binoche) and her daughter open a chocolate shop. Initially avoided by the residents as an outsider, the mysterious woman brings a breath of fresh air into the provincial backwater.
The boy has to get some fresh air (RTL+) – from June 1st
Hape Kerkeling’s multi-award-winning filmed autobiography can be seen on RTL+ over the Pentecost weekend and is a real streaming tip. The film shows the childhood and youth of the humorous Hans-Peter (Julius Weckauf) in the countryside in the 1970s. The boy has a gift for making people laugh – and a mission.
Borgen: Power to Glory Season 4 (Netflix) out June 1st
The Danish series “Borgen” will also get a new season for the Pentecost weekend. At the center of the political series is the politician Brigitte Nyborg, who has meanwhile been promoted to Foreign Minister. In her position, she has to deal with current problems such as the climate crisis and the smoldering conflict between Russia and the USA. A special feature in Denmark: the legislature, judiciary and executive sit in one and the same building in Copenhagen. This in turn provides a lot of fuel.
