The program from the streaming provider Peacock is now available via Sky Ticket and Sky Q. Sky had already announced the increase in series and films in August 2021.
Peacock is a streaming provider that has so far mainly been available in the UK. Thanks to the cooperation with Sky, customers of the pay-TV provider can now also stream Peacock content in Germany.
Peacock starts in Germany
Peacock brings some new films, but above all new series to Sky. The provider is a streaming service from NBC Universal, which started in July 2020 in the USA. In the US, Peacock offers part of the program that is ad-financed but free of charge. However, there is also an ad-free and more comprehensive Premium subscription for $4.99 per month.
In Germany and Austria, Sky customers with Sky Q or Sky Ticket can now stream the Peacock program via their subscription at no additional cost. The service is available to all subscribers with the Entertainment, Entertainment Plus or Ultimate TV plans.
The Peacock program
The Peacock program not only includes exclusive originals, but also series and films from partners such as Universal Pictures. Many well-known series hits are among them. Examples include The Office, Monk, Psych, Suits, Dr. House” and “Law & Order”. The streaming service also offers films. These include the “Fast & Furious” and “Matrix” series, the animated hit “Shrek” and classics such as “ET – The Extra-Terrestrial”. Peacock also owns the rights to the Harry Potter films after they were dropped from HBO Max. There is a preview of the content coming to Sky thanks to Peacock in the video:

Later in the year, another streaming provider will be added with Paramount+.

Offer should continue to grow
In the coming months, Peacock’s program will be further expanded, according to Sky. The provider already names titles that should then be available:
- Exclusive Peacock Originals including recent series Saved by the Bell, Rutherford Falls and Girls5eva. Subscribers can also look forward to shows like The Girl in the Woods, MacGruber, Joe vs. Carole, Bel-Air and The Resort.
- All seasons of the most popular drama and comedy series like The Office, Monk, 30 Rock, Psych and Will & Grace. In addition, series such as “Downton Abbey”, “Dr. House”, “Battlestar Galactica”, “Bates Motel” and “Heroes” as well as the popular franchise hits “Chicago Fire”, “Chicago PD” and “Chicago Med”. Sky is also announcing some reality TV shows, including Keeping Up With the Kardashians, Below Deck and Botched.
- Movies from the past few years like American Pie 2, Back to the Future Part III, Brüno, Bulletproof, Children of Men, Erin Brockovich, The Game, Gladiator, The Green Mile”, “The Holiday”, “Jason Bourne”, “Identity Thief”, “Lucy”, “MacGruber”, “Mamma Mia!”, “Meet Joe Black”, “Notting Hill”, “Pitch Perfect”, “ The Purge, The Secret Life of Pets, Shaun of the Dead, Snow White and the Huntsman, Out of Sight, Tower Heist, Tremors and Van Helsing.
Recently there was less good news for Sky customers. For example, the provider took the popular broadcaster Fox out of the program and canceled the Bundesliga offer. There were also changes in the contract area. For most new customers, Sky Entertainment is only available with a Netflix subscription. At the same time, Sky increases the prices for existing customers by 2 euros per month.
