Ski racer Linus Straßer finished ninth at the World Cup in Flachau and thus kept at least a small chance of overall victory in the slalom classification.
However, he is 64 points behind leading Norwegian Henrik Kristoffersen, who finished 16th after a botched first race, with a week and a half to go to the season finale.
The Norwegian Atle Lie McGrath celebrated his first World Cup victory at the night race in Austria. Second was Olympic champion Clement Noel from France ahead of Daniel Yule from Switzerland. It was the catch-up race for the Zagreb slalom, which was canceled at the beginning of January.
Straßer’s team colleague Anton Tremmel finished 20th. David Ketterer, Alexander Schmid, Fabian Himmelsbach and Adrian Meisen could not qualify for the second round. The last slalom of the winter will take place on March 20th in Courchevel, France.
