Stranger Things star Jamie Campbell Bower recently announced that final boss Vecna will return in the final season of the Netflix series Stranger Things. “I don’t think he snuck off to lick his wounds in misery,” Bower said.
Spoiler alert: At the end of Stranger Things season 4, Vecna is defeated by Eleven. “He’s mad, he’s really upset. I don’t think he curls up in his misery and licks his wounds. He’s rebuilding and he wants to see blood. It’s like you’ve actually pushed the buttons now, that classic Jason Voorhees thing [der Killer mit der Eishockeymaske aus Freitag der 13.]’ the actor said in one Interview with the British “NME”.
Bower himself doesn’t yet know what the plot will be like in the fifth season. However, he has his own suspicions: “I think Vecna and Will have a connection that has yet to be explored. As a fan, I’d be interested in seeing more of that.”
Does Vecna want revenge?
The actor also claims that Vecna is helping to change the fictional world in Stranger Things and rid it of something he sees as very toxic. He also believes that Vecna is acting for vengeful reasons. “One of the things I’ve always said to myself and I [während der Vorbereitung] I wrote down was, ‘You took everything from me, now it’s my turn to take everything from you,'” he said.
He added: “Before Eleven sends him to his untimely demise in the shadow world, he stays alone in this room for a long time, simmering away with no one to talk to. But even though revenge plays a big part in his relationship with her, I think he probably still has that desire to take her with him and live in a different way because she’s a part of him and he has a lot of himself in her recognizes”.
In addition to his work as an actor, Jamie Bower also pursues his passion for music. On August 12, he released his fourth single of the year, “I Am.”
