For the fourth season of the mystery series “Stranger Things” the motto is: bigger, scarier and longer. Fans all over the world are excited. Showmakers Matt and Ross Duffer have now announced that there will be a spin-off show after the final, fifth season.
Speaking to Variety, the Duffer brothers already revealed little things about the new project. While Netflix would never allow the duo to film the final season of Stranger Things and the spin-off series at the same time, they are almost done with the show’s final episodes. Only the visual effects are still missing, after that you can devote yourself to something new.
Surprising plot?
According to Matt and Ross Duffer, it’s important to have confidence in the series you’re planning. “Is it something I would want to do, even if it’s not related to Stranger Things? Definitely”. Meanwhile, he promises that the spin-off series will be different than everyone expects.
The plot is top secret. Aside from Matt and Ross Duffer, only Mike Wheeler actor Finn Wolfhard knows what the new series is about. This also seems to mean that Wolfhard will be there in the offshoot format. “Somehow Finn Wolfhard, who is a really smart guy, guessed the content correctly. But nobody knows except him!”
Fourth season finale
The final two episodes of the penultimate season of Stranger Things will be released on Netflix on July 1. According to showmakers Matt and Ross Duffer, the mystery series will be over after season five. “You just have to say – yes, that’s it, that’s true for me, that’s inevitable. That’s the way it has to be.”
