“Stranger Things” actor Joseph Quinn was stopped at the airport while entering the United States. He was held in an “airport dungeon” by US immigration officials on his way to see Jimmy Fallon.
Quinn opened up about the event on Jimmy Fallon’s show. He joked that it was his Netflix character Eddie Munson who saved him. “I got held up at immigration yesterday… and I was put in, I guess you could call it a dungeon,” Quinn joked. “I waited about 20 minutes and then I was called to this counter and someone asked me, ‘What are you doing in the United States, sir?’ I said I’m actually here to meet Jimmy Fallon on The Tonight Show. And he didn’t believe me.”
“That’s Eddie from ‘Stranger Things’…!”
As a result, Quinn was recognized as a “Stranger Things” actor by another immigration officer. He continues, “And one of his co-workers looked over at him, looked at me and said, ‘Leave Eddie alone!’ And then he said, ‘This is Eddie from Stranger Things,’ and he was like, ‘You’re Eddie Munson? Are you coming back next season?’ I said, ‘I don’t know…’ and he said, ‘You better,’ and gave me my passport.”
Warning, spoilers!
Quinn’s fellow actor/singer Maya Hawke recently commented on the death of Stranger Things character Eddie Munson in an interview with NME: “I totally understand the fans who want to see more of him. I feel like we can’t keep killing people and bringing them back to life – the same fans would be so upset! But I’d love if they figured out a way to include Eddie’s spirit just because Joe Quinn is such a great guy. He’s so much fun to have on set and he’s such a great actor,” she said.
Stranger Things Season 4 is currently airing on Netflix. Producers Matt and Ross Duffer are already planning a Stranger Things spin-off.
