RTL does not want to respond substantively to the allegations against Carlo Boszhard. According to the channel, it is nonsense that they would have put pressure on the editor-in-chief of Story.
The Story proclaimed in the first week of January that ‘a TV presenter would have assaulted underage boys’, but the tabloid has never come up with a name. Presenter Jan Roos of the online hit Gossip Talk now states that it is about Carlo Boszhard. “Like Ali B, just like Marco B, we now have Carlo B.”
Bad case
These are very serious allegations against Carlo. What does RTL think of it? A spokeswoman said: “Carlo has given a clear response to the Gossip talk claims. Our maxim is that we do not respond to rumors and anonymous sources.”
She continues: “In general, we find it a bad thing that suggestions are made about serious matters without stating facts.”
External hotline
RTL points out that it takes transgressive behavior very seriously. “We take social safety very seriously at RTL and have an external hotline, Bezemer-Shubad. People can report undesirable behavior there. If there are criminal offenses, then appropriate action will be taken.”
She continues: “By reporting here or by filing a report, you can be sure that a report is handled appropriately.”
Story under pressure?
According to Jan, Carlo’s case is being kept under wraps. He claims that RTL has put pressure on Story’s editor-in-chief, Guido den Aantrekker. “After it appeared in the Story, Guido was called: ‘With RTL. If you think you will bring this, no one from RTL will ever speak to you again.’”
Complete nonsense, according to RTL. “That RTL would have called the editor-in-chief of Story to suppress a story is sheer nonsense.”
