The book by Teun Toebes (23) from Best, who lived for a year in a care home for people with dementia, is being made into a film. ‘Nursing Home’, in which Toebes described his experiences, will be an eight-part television series.
The script for the series is being worked on with the scriptwriter of the youth film ‘Eighth groupers don’t cry’, among others. “The is not just about me and the book”, Teun explains. “There are also other nursing home stories that are covered in the series.”
The young carer is proud that his book is now being made into a movie. “It’s unbelievable that the mission I work so hard on is being embraced so much. Hopefully a lot of people will watch and enjoy this beautiful drama series, and become aware of how valuable people living with dementia are in our society.”
He will also play a part in the series himself.
