Storm Isha is coming, code yellow tomorrow evening for heavy gusts of wind

On Sunday evening, storm Isha can cause heavy wind gusts of up to 110 kilometers per hour, which is why the KNMI has issued a code yellow. The wind comes from a south-westerly direction. Before the storm arrives, it will be very slippery tomorrow morning due to winter precipitation, and the weather institute has also issued a code yellow for the slipperiness.

The code yellow for heavy gusts of wind applies from Sunday 9 p.m. to Monday morning 9 a.m. The KNMI calls on people to be alert, drive slower and keep a greater distance from other road users.

Markermeer locks

Yesterday, several locks were closed as a precaution due to the predicted southwest storm. The Water Board expects that the locks will not be opened again until Tuesday. The lock in the Broekerhaven of Bovenkarspel and the Grote Sluis in Hoorn, the latter at the request of the harbor master, were closed yesterday by the water board. Due to the expected storm, there is another chance of high water levels.
