Storm damage in Berlin almost tripled in 2021

Heavy rain, hail and flooding caused insurance losses of around 30 million euros in Berlin last year. The loss volume has almost tripled compared to the previous year, as reported by the General Association of the German Insurance Industry (GDV). Two-thirds of the total last year was attributable to property damage to houses, household goods, and commercial and industrial companies. Another ten million euros had to be spent on damage to cars.
