A massive hailstorm surprised concert-goers at a Louis Tomlinson show in the US state of Colorado on Wednesday evening (June 21), injuring almost 100 people. Local authorities report that at least seven people had to be hospitalized. The National Weather Service in Boulder had warned of severe storms in the region, with “golfball-sized hail” threatening some areas.
Fans were forced to duck for cover as the massive hailstones battered Red Rocks Park and Amphitheater, an open-air site near Denver. Because of the storm, the concert had to be canceled early. The British pop musician and songwriter, best known as the singer of boy band One Direction, tweeted that he was “devastated by the show” and continued: “Hope everyone’s okay, I’ll be back!” Even though we didn’t play the show, I felt all your passion! I send love to you all.”

A Twitter user also wrote of the incident: “Did 8 hours to see Louis Tomlinson at Red Rocks tonight. I pray for all who were there tonight. I have bruises and welts all over my back and legs. We had to empty boxes of shirts at the merch stand to cover our heads.”
