In Catania it was known by all as “the villa of footballers”. To get there you had to go through the gate placed at the beginning of a wide tree-lined avenue, a stone’s throw from the construction site of the Cibali stadium under construction. It was 1934 when Geza Kertész, a tall and distinguished Hungarian coach, experienced the first prolonged collegiate retreat of a football team.
