Bridget Maasland receives a serious reprimand after her striking statement of support for transgender people in our country. “She was always pretty cool at first, but now she’s acting very virtuous.”
It causes annoyance that Bridget Maasland suddenly acts as the patroness of the transgender community, while in 2014 she turned out to be one of the most intolerant celebrities. She then made a particularly ugly joke about the transgender woman Kelly van der Veer. Now she finds that kind of transphobia “incredible.”
‘Good’ Bridget
Yvonne Coldeweijer thinks this is so hypocritical that she addressed Bridget this week via her juice channel, and Bridget in turn responded to it. Now the juice queen also returns to it in her podcast.
She tells in The Juice Show: “Look, Bridget has taken a certain path. He needs to cut down on that path for a while. The virtue path. So Bridget was always pretty cool at first and she’s acting very virtuous now, but I think: the thing is with virtuous people, they never live up to it themselves, you know. Look at Jip! F * cking Jip! That’s a good one too, isn’t it?”
“You did it yourself!”
Just saying sorry for that ugly joke is enough according to Yvonne. “Suppose it’s a joke, you made it, then you say afterwards: ‘Sorry, it was different in that zeitgeist’, blah blah blah. I do not agree with that, because in 2014 this was also just mean, but whatever.”
She continues: “But then you don’t present yourself in 2023 as a kind of spokeswomen of transgender people, like: ‘Oh my god, unbelievable!’ I had already dropped out at the word ‘unbelievable’, because I thought: unbelievable?! It was you who did this!”
Unbelievable
It’s just unbelievable, says Yvonne. “It’s also a bit strange when I say in six years’ time: ‘It’s unbelievable that André Hazes Jr. is being bullied like that!’ That’s weird, you can’t!”
