“Stop flipping signs”: Roads and Traffic…

Disgruntled farmers had turned over quite a few signs in protest: “the country turned upside down.” But Roads and Traffic can’t laugh about it. “Inverted traffic signs lose their function in traffic and they are no longer readable. That is dangerous,” says Katrien Kiekens of Roads and Traffic.

“For example, a traffic sign indicating a built-up area also requires a lower speed limit of 50 km/h and some mopeds are allowed to ride on the road. This sign also brings into force all kinds of traffic rules, which are often focused on the road safety of active road users in village or city centers.”
