Stoffel Vandoorne will soon be world champion?
The sixteenth and final ePrix of the season will also be held in the South Korean capital on Sunday.
Vandoorne only won one ePrix this season – the most prestigious (Monaco) – but showed himself very regularly. Once he finished outside the top ten (11th in Mexico) and also once outside the top five (7th in Saudi Arabia). The 30-year-old West Fleming was on the podium seven times. In the previous ePrix, the 2020 vice champion did a golden job by moving up from thirteenth place on the starting grid in London to fourth place. That while his competitors all failed. New Zealander Mitch Evans (Spark-Jaguar) and Frenchman Jean-Eric Vergne (DS Techeetah) failed to finish and Swiss Edoardo Mortara (Venturi Racing) only finished thirteenth. As a result, Vandoorne now has 36 points ahead of Evans, 41 on Mortara and 57 on Vergne. There is still a maximum of 58 points to earn.
