Stocks Vienna close: ATX closes with slight losses

VIENNA (dpa-AFX) – Trading on the Vienna Stock Exchange was quiet on Friday despite important labor market data from the USA. The ATX fell a moderate 0.22 percent lower at 3378.54 units. A decline of 0.19 percent to 1700.68 points was recorded for the ATX Prime.

US employment rose more significantly in February than expected. However, the increases in the previous two months were revised downwards significantly. In addition, there is a rising unemployment rate and weaker wage growth. At first glance, the greater than expected increase in the number of employees was positive.

“The US labor market “It’s going well, but not hot,” Commerzbank economists commented on the data. “The Fed can therefore calmly wait for further figures before it initiates the expected interest rate turnaround.” Commerzbank is assuming a first Interest rate cut out in June. This is also largely expected on the financial markets.

Stimulating company news was in short supply until the close of trading. However, two analyzes from Erste Group on Kapsch and Mayr-Melnhof attracted attention.

Erste Group analysts have slightly reduced their price target for Kapsch TrafficCom shares from EUR 15.1 to EUR 15.0. However, the “Buy” investment vote was confirmed by the responsible expert Daniel Lion. For comparison: Kapsch shares ended trading unchanged at 8.48 euros.

In addition, Erste has lowered its price target for Mayr-Melnhof shares from 143.8 to 127.2 euros ahead of the annual figures that will be published shortly. The investment vote “Hold” was retained by the responsible expert Michael Marschallinger. The reduced price target is due to reduced earnings forecasts. A price drop of 1.87 percent to 115.40 euros was seen here.

Among the individual stocks, AT&S shares lost a strong 5.3 percent on the reporting day. BAWAG’s securities moved into the red by 2.3 percent. Erste Group registered a moderate decline of 0.4 percent.

In contrast, Vienna Insurance Group (VIG) was in demand with a plus of 2.2 percent. Verbund increased by 0.9 percent and Immofinanz by 0.7 percent. CA Immo recorded an increase of 0.5 percent./sto/kat/APA/nas
