Biathlon skier Stina Nilsson got into an unexpected situation at the World Cup in Kontiolahti on Sunday.

In the women’s 10 km pursuit race, Nilsson noticed in the third shooting position that she doesn’t have a magazine at all. In a panic, the Swede called the national team for help.

Finally, the caretaker brought Nilsson a new cap.

– Did he forget to take the cap with him or did he fall on the way? However, I don’t think that he would have left the magazine in the snow after the fall, SVT expert, Olympic champion in biathlon Bjorn Ferry surprised on live TV.

Nilsson explained the strange situation after the race.

– I lost the caps, but I didn’t know it (before the bench). I was that healthy, Swedish laughed Expressen.

– I had no idea that the caps were gone. Apparently they fell while shooting prone. This has never happened before.

Nilsson was 35th in the race, which was his best finish of the weekend. The gap to the top was a good three and a half minutes.

The Swede fired two misses.

Nilsson is an Olympic champion and world champion in cross-country skiing. In the spring of 2020, he announced that he would change his sport to biathlon.

So far, the best result in the World Cup is last season’s third place.
