No cannabis has been found in Haribo’s cola soils. This is evident from new research into the sweets of the manufacturer from Breda. At the end of May, the Dutch Food and Consumer Product Safety Authority reported that there was cannabis in the cola bottles, but that is not true. Children did become unwell after eating the sweets.
The outcome of the investigation of the Netherlands Forensic Institute is different from that of previous tests, the police said. That means that nowhere in the process at Haribo Cannabis has entered the sweets.
Several children became unwell after eating the candy. Two of them were even in a coma. It is not yet clear what the reason is. The police are investigating that further.
Haribo is happy with the outcome of the research: “This confirms that Haribo’s products are safe to enjoy, and that this has always been the case.” The Breda candy manufacturer says it is no longer involved in the case.
