Stijn Fincioen new competition director Night of Flanders

The Night of Flanders is a concept in the Belgian running world. Since 1980 it takes place every year in Torhout on the third Saturday of June. There used to be the 100 kilometer ultra run, but due to financial and organizational problems Migneau decided in 2013 to move the ultra run to Maasmechelen.

Good bond

Stijn has a good relationship with the Night of Flanders. With his ten participations, he is a well-known face at the competition. In total he won the marathon five times and the half marathon twice in Torhout.

In addition to his work in the facility management service in Zedelgem, the Aartrijker is still an athlete. Stijn gives training sessions and also organizes the running race Dwars door Aartrijke. So he already has some experience.

Pass the torch

As an athlete, Stijn always marked the Night with a dot in his agenda, because he knew it was a well-organized competition. As a future race director, he obviously wants to keep it that way. In any case, he considers it an honor that Migneau is passing on the torch to him.

The 42nd edition of the Night of Flanders will take place on Friday 16 and Saturday 17 June. In total there are three distances, namely the 10 kilometers, a half marathon and a marathon.
