Stijn Devolder honored as an honorary citizen of Deerlijk

On the day of the Tour of Flanders, Stijn Devolder is officially honored as an honorary citizen of the city of Deerlijk. The former cyclist even won this prestigious cycling race twice, in 2008 and 2009. Devolder is also a three-time Belgian champion. He was the strongest in 2007, 2010 and 2013.

The ceremony took place in the church of Sint-Lodewijk. There were also quite a few people present who experienced Devolder’s successes up close. As icing on the cake, the two-time winner of the Tour also receives a statue.
