Due to the concerts of the Canadian singer The Weeknd at the King Baudouin Stadium in Brussels on 11 and 12 July, STIB’s transport offer to and from the stadium will be expanded. The Brussels public transport company reports this in a press release.
Metro line 2 will be extended to the Koning Boudewijn stop and a metro will run to the stadium every 5 minutes. Six metro trains will be on standby to offer additional journeys. The King Baudouin station will always be closed at 9 p.m. There are also five additional trams in reserve on lines 3, 7, 9, 51 and 93, ready to be deployed on the network.
For quick access to the stadium, STIB advises travelers with yellow, gray and red tickets to get off at Houba-Brugmann metro station. Travelers with blue and green tickets are advised to get off at Heysel station.
The STIB also announces that it will deploy extra staff to accompany travelers who come to Brussels by train.
For the occasion, STIB will play songs from The Weeknd in the metro between 3 and 7 pm and between 11 and 1 am.
