Stepson of missing Titanic explorer during rescue mission at blink 182 concert

On Sunday (June 18) the tourist submersible “Titan” set out to explore the wreck of the Titanic. Contact with the escort ship broke off, the boat is still being sought according to the current status (Wednesday, June 21).

Hamish Harding, a British businessman and billionaire, is part of the crew of five. Brian Szasz, Harding’s stepson, made a post on Facebook on Tuesday (June 20) in which he wrote: “Hamish, my stepfather, was lost in a submarine. I hope and pray that the rescue operation will be successful.”

“It may be tasteless, but…”

A few minutes later, he published another post telling his followers that he was at a Blink 182 concert. “It might be distasteful to be here but my family would want me to be on the Blink 182 show because it’s my favorite band and music helps me through difficult times,” he wrote. Szasz removed the post after a short time.

The 37-year-old attended the San Diego show, which featured Turnstile and Landon Barker (Travis Barker’s son) as support acts. The American punk rockers are currently on a big world tour. Three Germany concerts are on the schedule: on September 9th in the Lanxess Arena in Cologne, on September 16th in the Mercedes-Benz Arena in Berlin and on September 17th in the Barclays Arena in Hamburg.

blink-182 was formed in 1992 by Mark Hoppus and Tom DeLonge. The band went on hiatus between 2005 and 2011 before returning in 2011 with the album Neighborhoods and the tour that followed. Matt Skiba replaced DeLonge in 2015 after he left the band earlier that year. After a seven-year hiatus, DeLonge resumed his position at blink-182 in 2022. On the recordings for “California” and the current album “Nine” Matt Skiba can be heard instead of DeLonge.
