The master of horror discovers a new horror figure in Donald Trump and wishes his office survey.
In a current interview with “The Guardian” Bestselling author Stephen King King openly described President Donald Trump as a “horror story”. The author keeps the president’s elevation as a desirable way out of the political nightmare in the United States.

When asked how he would end the “Trump age” himself, King replied: “I think a good end would be an elevation. I would like to see him retired. The worse outcome would be that he would get a third term and take care of everything. It is a horror story either way”.
For King, Trump is not just a real political actor, but more dramatic than any fictional monster figure.
The writer had previously expressed his political opinion unfiltered. On X, for example, he described Trump with clear words as a “incompetent ass”.
New King film adaptations
In addition to his political statements, Stephen King also spoke in an interview about the numerous films of his works. Many of his books, including classics such as “The Shining” and “Carrie”, became cinema sequences. But there have never been as many adaptations as now. Four new cinematic variants of Kings works appeared this year alone. “I am still thrilled when someone makes a film of something I wrote,” he explains.
He was particularly pleased this year about the adaptations of “The Monkey” (2025) and “The Life of Chuck” (2025). He also eagerly awaits Edgar Wrights’ Remake from “The Running Man”, which will appear in the cinemas in November this year.
