According to De Telegraaf, Sparta trainer Maurice Steijn is the top candidate to become Ajax’s trainer. According to the newspaper, negotiations with Norwegian Kjetil Knutsen have broken down. Earlier this week, the Dane Kasper Hjulmand also dropped out.
The new technical director of Ajax Sven Mislintat has been working on a new trainer for weeks. He previously informed John Heitinga that he will not be the trainer of the team from Amsterdam next season. Since then, Mislintat has had several talks, but it has not yet come to white smoke.
