Statement on allegations circulating online

Since Thursday (May 25) #Lindemann has been trending on Twitter, as have Till Lindemann’s colleagues from Rammstein (#Rammstein). The singer of Germany’s most successful band in the world is accused of sexual or psychological violence under these hashtags. The stories come mostly from a woman who claims to have partied with the 60-year-old, then said she may have been spiked (drugged by a needlestick attack) and then abused. Photos were put online, some of which show severe bruises and bruises that Lindemann is said to have inflicted on her. Many users refer to the singer’s (song) lyrics, in which he tells of fantasies of violence against women – which is intended to support the portrayal of the woman he allegedly abused.

On the night of Whit Monday (May 28), Rammstein responded to the allegations on their official Twitter account. Specifically, the band responds to the accusation that he became violent after his concert in Vilnius this year. “Regarding the allegations about Vilnius circulating online, we can rule out that what is alleged to have happened in our environment.” It is also pointed out that they are not aware of any “official investigations”. Rammstein also wrote the statement in English. The comment function is limited for both tweets – only users who are followed by the account itself or who were mentioned by the account itself can comment on the statement; the Rammstein account does not follow anyone else.

The alleged victim posts on social media, on Twitter and Instagram, while other statements and photos intended to document the assault. In the matter, she writes, she will no longer remain silent.
