Statement of the day | Use more highway shoulders for solar panels

If the plans go ahead, the largest solar park in the Netherlands will be built along the A37 over a length of 42 kilometers. Are solar panels on roadsides along highways a good idea and should this be done in more places?

The ‘solar route’ along the A37 between Hoogeveen and Zwartemeer should cover 192 hectares. The initiators are currently working on financing. Residents of surrounding villages can invest so that they can later benefit from the proceeds of the solar park.

What do you think? Should we use more roadsides along highways for solar panels? Or would you rather see them in a meadow or on roofs? Let us know and participate in the Statement of the Day.
