Patients in hospitals or healthcare institutions should be able to receive a vegetarian meal without any problems. That is the gist of a petition that the Vegetarian Union presents to the House of Representatives. Is that a good initiative?
“We just have to wait and see what the institution offers the patient,” said the association, which believes this is outdated.
The Vegetarian Union mentions the Martini Hospital in Groningen as a positive exception. Hospitals now decide together with their caterers what is eaten.
