Statement of the day | Minors who misbehave in the stadium deserve a lesser sentence

Certainly, he throws the wad of paper at the striker of SC Heerenveen. But that he would get FC Groningen, the KNVB, a bailiff and the municipality full on his roof, 16-year-old Teun had not expected that.

The punishment? A national stadium ban of one and a half years. A fine of 250 euros plus the costs of the bailiff (335.44 euros in total). Do not attend matches of the Dutch national team, not even abroad. And the municipality does not want to see him near the stadium.

Of course the behavior is inexcusable, but is it fair to punish a minor as harshly as an adult? Or does such a tit-for-tat policy actually help to banish incidents in the stadiums for good? Share your opinion and respond to the statement of the day.
