Statement of the day | In the Netherlands you must be able to use an electric scooter on the road

Have you recently taken a city trip to Berlin, Paris or Seville? There’s a good chance you’ve been run over by an e-scooter. We don’t know them yet in the Netherlands because they are illegal here. But that is about to change.

For example, MediaMarkt now claims to have an electrically powered scooter that you are allowed to take on public roads. While last week in the Senate the motion of the BoerBurgerBeweging has been rejected to equate the e-scooter with the e-bike in more than a year.

What do you think, should you be allowed to go on the road in our country with an e-scooter?
