Statement of the day | Climate activists on the A12 have now made their point

Climate activists blocked the A12 highway in The Hague for the eighth day in a row on Saturday. What do you think, is that a good thing or is their point clear now?

The blockade started around noon, when hundreds of demonstrators walked onto the A12 and stopped traffic. The activists sat on the road, with their arms linked.

On Friday it was announced that more subsidies and tax benefits will go to the fossil sector than was thought. According to a calculation by the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate, this amounts to between 39.7 billion and 46.4 billion euros annually.

What do you think of climate activists’ highway blockades? Let us know and participate in the Statement of the Day.
