Fenerbahçe Beko Men’s Basketball Team lost 68-64 to Beşiktaş Emlakjet in the 10th week match of the Türkiye Sigorta Basketball Super League. In the first half of the match, a foreign object hit the head of yellow-dark blue player Yam Madar. After the intervention of the medical team, the young player continued the game in the second half. Fenerbahçe Club made a statement about the issue on the official website.
Here is that statement…
As it is known, in the first half of the match played by our Men’s Basketball Team, Fenerbahçe Beko, at Sinan Erdem Sports Hall on Saturday, December 2nd,
One of the many objects thrown from the home team’s stands hit our athlete Yam Madar in the head.
Our player, who had to go to the locker room in this part, continued the second half of the match after the intervention of our medical team and his intense desire to do so.
After the match, our athlete complained of partial vision loss.
Yam Madar’s condition will become clear as a result of further examinations.
We wish our player Yam Madar to get well soon and hope he recovers as soon as possible.
Based on all these events that took place in a basketball match;
Aside from swearing at every moment of the match, countless objects were thrown from the stands, creating an environment that threatened the health of all individuals on the field.
We condemn those who created this environment and the competition officials who continued the fight even though it reached a point where one of our athletes was injured.
From all individuals and institutions, especially the Turkish Basketball Federation, whose main and primary responsibility is to ensure that these events do not happen in sports fields and if they do, they end immediately;
Identifying the person(s) who caused this environment and imposing the necessary penalties,
We expect the strictest measures to be taken and implemented to prevent similar shameful events from recurring.
