The Nederlandse Aardolie Maatschappij (NAM) is allowed to continue to dump wastewater from the oil extraction in Schoonebeek in empty gas fields in Twente for the time being. State Secretary Hans Vijlbrief (Mining) does want alternatives, such as the local storage of waste water in the soil of Drenthe, to be urgently developed.
