State Secretary Alexandra van Huffelen (Digitalization and Kingdom Relations) will be in Brussels and Paris from 1 to 3 March. There she speaks with various ministers, European Commissioners, MEPs and civil society organizations about the human dimension in the digital field and about digital developments, online privacy and stopping and preventing fake news and polarization.

The State Secretary believes it is important that these subjects are high on the European agenda: “Digitalization has a major impact on people, society, the physical space and our democratic constitutional state and will have an even greater impact. I also want to make a strong commitment to secure digital collaboration in Europe. Based on public values, fundamental rights and human rights.”

On 1 and 2 March, in addition to various MEPs, the State Secretary will speak separately with European Commissioners Vestager (Competition and Digital Society), Breton (Internal Market), Jourova (Values ​​and Transparency), Reynders (Justice) and Urpilainen (International Partnerships).

On Thursday, State Secretary Van Huffelen will visit the French minister for public services: Amelie de Montchalin in Paris. The talks also serve as an introduction after the Rutte IV cabinet takes office.
