State Secretary Bertrand launches campaign on consumer rights | Domestic

Federal State Secretary Alexia Bertrand (Open Vld) inaugurated the ‘BE.COCO’ days in the Woluwe Shopping Center, an awareness campaign to make consumers more aware of their rights. ‘BE.COCO’ stands for BE a Conscious Consumer. The campaign runs until November 10.

Until then, visitors to the Woluwe Shopping Center can be informed about their rights as consumers. Representatives of partner organizations such as the FPS Economy, Test Aankoop and Febelfin are present to speak to consumers.

Visitors can come by from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. (and until 8 p.m. on Fridays) to have their questions answered by experts. Last March, Bertrand already organized an event at the VUB on the occasion of Consumer Day.

“With BE.COCO we want to help consumers think about their habits. As a result of the energy crisis, we all know that every euro is precious and we cannot afford to spend it poorly or be ripped off,” says Bertrand. “It is the duty of the companies and associations involved to inform consumers, but it is also up to them to come and find this information. That’s why we’ve created an accessible and fun way to do this.”
