On Saturday the summer night was lukewarm and the State Opera was lukewarm. Some went to the rave on June 17th, while classical music fans made the pilgrimage to Bebelplatz.
Picnic in a folding chair in the middle of Mitte – and the big stars of the world-famous State Opera on screen and stage. An evergreen in the capital’s classical music calendar.
For the 17th edition of the “State Opera for All”, the live opera transmission of Giuseppe Verdi’s “Don Carlo” was on the program on Saturday. A live concert by the Staatskapelle Berlin follows on Sunday.
The Indian star conductor Zubin Mehta (87) conducts Bruckner’s Symphony No. 7 and Richard Wagner’s Rienzi Overture. Starts at 7:30 p.m. Admission is free.
Martina Grohlmann (65) enjoyed the opera open air on Saturday for the first time. “Otherwise I’m often a guest in the Berlin opera houses and now for the first time in the open air.
