The Future Party emerged from a citizens’ initiative for better basic medical care in the district of North Friesland, in north-west Schleswig-Holstein. In this state election, the party demands that medical help should reach every place in Schleswig-Holstein within 15 minutes. The party is also calling for hospitals and similar facilities to be placed exclusively in public hands again.
Other topics in the election program are living and working conditions in rural areas. The Future Party would like to introduce free local transport, which is to be financed through tax revenue. In addition, the party would like to set up nationwide, community-owned housing associations and municipalize large real estate groups in order to provide permanently secure living space. Whether and how areas in Schleswig-Holstein are used, for example for wind turbines or for tourism, should be left to the municipalities. The party also wants to campaign for gentle, sustainable tourism that is geared towards the common good.
