Stasi murder charges are a service to all victims

49 years after the crime, a Stasi man will have to stand trial in a Berlin court. In 1974, he is said to have killed an unsuspecting citizen who was looking for nothing but freedom with a targeted shot in the back on behalf of the GDR regime. The public prosecutor’s office has filed murder charges.
