According to Patrick Stewart, a new Star Trek film is in the works. More information here.
In 2023, the series “Star Trek: Picard” ended after three seasons. Patrick Stewart, who plays Captain Jean-Luc Picard, has now given a pleasant update. He explained in the “Happy Sad Confused” podcast that at the time of recording (November 2023), a script for another Picard-related film was already being worked on.
Patrick Stewart is up for more “Star Trek”
However, the actor did not explicitly state whether it was a completely new film or a kind of final film in his “Star Trek” series. He simply said, “I heard about a script that’s being written that I’m supposed to star in and I’m told I’ll get it within a week or so.”
The 83-year-old also said on the podcast that he was excited because it sounded like another project “where the experiments I want to do are essential to this type of material.”
No confirmation from the production company yet
It is not known when and where the film will be shown, and the plot remains unclear. If the film is actually filmed, it will probably take a few years before it appears. Neither Paramount nor “Star Trek” producer Alex Kurtzman have yet commented on the issue.
