With a goal and two assists, Iman Griffith can look back on a wonderful evening on behalf of Jong AZ. The Alkmaar promises won gloriously 4-0 against NAC. Griffith was especially happy with his assist on Mexx Meerdink. “I already told him ‘shut up’, you’re going to make it later.”
“I do like to score a goal,” says Iman Griffith, showering after the victory over NAC. “But this is also good for Meerdink.”

Maarten Martens naturally charmed the convincing victory. The Belgian coach of Jong AZ enjoyed the ‘grinta’ and the attacking spirit of his players. And he saw that star Griffith is making strides. “He is currently close to AZ 1.”

Official debut
At the age of sixteen, Griffith already made his unofficial debut for the Alkmaar main force. Unfortunately for the right winger, there is still an official sequel. Griffith is now twenty years old and he plays his matches for Jong AZ. Still, he does make strides. “If I continue like this, I might get the chance.”

Thanks in part to Griffith’s excellent game, Jong AZ has risen considerably in the ranking. Martens’ talents are now in seventh place. Next week Jong AZ will visit FC Den Bosch.
