Stammering Johan Jelies in ice cream shop causes hilarity

No fewer than seventeen (!) ice creams had to be ordered.

Visit to waterfall

The Jelies family hangs out with the family of Aida’s boyfriend Sven. Because they have four children, they are on holiday with a total of seventeen people. You might think it is an impossible task to keep an eye on thirteen children, but Johan and Janneke all want to visit a waterfall.

stop, stop, stop

Then the two families decide it’s time for an ice cream. Father Johan is given the task of ordering seventeen ice creams and does so in German including a German accent. “Ein Karamell”, he begins. Or no, not at all: “Halt, halt, halt”, he shouts after it. It must be a scoop of chocolate after all.

Zwei balls

Then Johan wants to ask for two balls. “Zwei balls, Zwei euh… Zwei”, he stammers. Fortunately, the employee is used to Dutch tourists and understands a little Dutch. “That’s a lot easier, isn’t it”, Johan sighs. For the seventeen ice creams, the family ultimately has to pay 30.21 euros. But hey, it’s vacation. “That debit card should just go”, says Johan.

Comments on Johan Jelies

Viewers had to laugh hard at Johan’s bumbling. ‘Johan also speaks a nice word about the border’, jokes one viewer. Another: ‘Zwei scoops, waffels. Bit my German’.
