Magnus Cort and Simon Clarke will no longer start in the fifteenth stage of the Tour de France. The Danish cyclist from EF Education-Easypost and the Australian from Israel – Premier Tech have tested positive for the corona virus and are therefore leaving the Tour.
“Magnus Cort woke up this morning with a headache and fever and then tested positive for Covid-19. He will therefore not start in the Tour. His medical examination continues,” his team said via Twitter. Cort won the tenth stage in Megève.
Clarke’s team reported that the Australian gave a positive result in a routine test. “All other riders tested negative and are ready to ride,” Israel – Premier Tech reported. Clarke won the fifth stage of the Tour in Wallers-Arenberg by beating Taco van der Hoorn in the sprint.
