Eight employees of snack bar de Kwalitaria in Borger have resigned because of non-compliance with work agreements. The future of the eatery in the village center has therefore become uncertain.
Inquiries show that the employees who have left have been wanting new agreements about wages and contracts for some time. After in their view this was not followed up, the employees resigned. The two owners did not want to respond substantively to the resulting labor dispute.
According to co-owner Kevin Siersema, the Kwalitaria will remain open in the afternoons until August 1. “Until that date, we could still count on some goodwill from some employees.”
According to Siersema, there are roughly two options left: either finding new staff or selling them. “In the current market it is difficult to get the necessary forces. Everything is under considerable pressure.” If that search does not yield any results, sales will soon come into play, he says.
