Staff at MC Three Carpets in Waregem are taking action…

At the beginning of December it was announced that MC Three Carpets will close its doors due to a lack of a new buyer. As a result, 278 employees will lose their jobs. On January 9, the company was declared bankrupt. But the employees, including some of the company’s directors, believe it is a fraudulent bankruptcy. “Their goal is to reduce severance payments for employees,” said union representative Moussa Boualem. “The MC Three Carpets building was sold to another company of the owner and the rent was 200,000 euros per month. According to Tom Verleyen, director of the company, the current order book can yield another 3 million euros.”
