Stabbing in New York museum over membership revoked | Abroad

The man’s membership was revoked due to “disorderly conduct” at the museum on two separate occasions. The letter informing the suspect of this was sent one day before the stabbing, on Friday.

The incident took place on Saturday around 4.15 p.m. (local time) at the entrance to the museum, where the 60-year-old suspect was planning to watch a movie, according to a police spokesman. When it turned out that he was not allowed in, he became “upset” and stabbed the two employees at the reception.

Chaos is said to have ensued in the museum and eyewitnesses report that there was talk of “gunshots.” However, according to the police, no weapon was fired and the suspect left the museum on foot, after which he disappeared without a trace.
