The police take into account that the stabbing in a house in Cuijk is the result of a family drama. There are currently no indications that anyone else besides the two victims is involved. “Of course we can’t rule it out 100 percent, but at the moment there are no indications of third party involvement in the stabbing incident,” the police said.
A spokesman for the police said that investigations are still being carried out at the house. “It is possible that this is a family drama, but we continue to explore other options as well.” Police would not say what those other options are.
The stabbing in the house on Korhoenderveld was reported around eight o’clock on Wednesday evening. The residents of the house, aged 73 and 75, were killed in the stabbing. In the course of Thursday morning, the police continued to investigate the house.
Shocked local residents
Local residents reacted shocked on Thursday. Sam Bokan visited his mother on Thursday. She lives three doors down and is well acquainted with the deceased couple. His mother was still in touch with them this week. “They were such sweet, helpful people who were there for others.” Their deaths came completely out of the blue for his mother.
Emergency services rushed to the house en masse on Wednesday evening to help the injured, an air ambulance was also called. That was of no avail.
That same Wednesday evening, a 13-year-old girl was also missing in the Brabant town. She was found Wednesday night. A police spokesman said the two cases are unrelated.
Also last Saturday, the police found a dead man in an apartment on the Fazantenveld in Cuijk. That is around the corner from the Korhoenderveld. According to the police, these are separate incidents that are not related to each other.
