Stabbed in prison: rapper MoneySign Suede is dead

Rapper MoneySign Suede is dead. He was murdered in a California prison. The 22-year-old, whose real name was Jaime Brugada Valdez, was found dead in the shower at Soledad State Prison just before 10 p.m. on Tuesday, April 25, 2023. The authorities and his lawyer said it was a knife attack.

Despite life-saving measures, the musician died shortly afterwards in the prison’s medical facility. Valdez’s attorney, Nicholas Rosenberg, told the Los Angeles Times: “They said it was a stab in the neck.” Further information about the crime has not yet been released.

The rapper, who went by the stage name MoneySign Suede, was sentenced to two years and eight months in prison for gun possession in Riverside County in December 2022.

MoneySignSuede released his last album PARKSIDE BABY in September 2022. In 2021 he signed a deal with Atlantic Records. Born the only son of Mexican immigrants, he grew up with his parents and five sisters in Huntington Park, Los Angeles.
