contract ends
With five goals involved in the eight games so far this year, striker Lukas Daschner is a key factor in FC St. Pauli’s recent positive run. While the “Kiezkicker” are one of the most in-form teams in the top European leagues in an international comparison with eight wins in a row and have climbed to fifth place in the second division table, the 24-year-old has apparently slipped into the focus of VfL Bochum.

This is reported by thePicture“-Newspaper. Daschner’s contract at Millerntor expires at the end of the season. According to the newspaper, the offensive player trained at MSV Duisburg was already on site at Castroper Straße last week for initial talks about a possible transfer. The proximity to the family is therefore a possible advantage for VfL in addition to the goal of playing in the Bundesliga. Daschner, who can be used variably on the wings as well as in the center of the attack, switched from his training club MSV to Hamburg in 2020 for 350,000 euros, has doubled his market value since then and was last considered by Transfermarkt in autumn 2022 with an appreciation of 250,000 euros.
After media reports about a possible extension of his expiring contract, Daschner recently spoke about his future himself, but indicated that he would remain with the FCSP. “We spoke for the first time two weeks ago. And we will continue the talks. I feel very comfortable here, my girlfriend too. I get along really well with the guys and it’s a great environment in a great city,” said the professional in an interview with “Kicker” at the beginning of March.
The player, who was only used sporadically towards the end of the first series under Timo Schultz, is back on the offensive under his successor Fabian Hürzeler, who is still undefeated in the league. He was accordingly “happy that I’m now part of the starting lineup in every game and I think I’ll pay it back with good performances.”
