No January transfers planned
Cristiano Ronaldo (37) was already associated with a move from Manchester United to SSC Napoli in the summer – the denial was not long in coming. Same this time: After the English tabloid media had speculated about an interest in the Portuguese star striker from the Serie A leaders, who were still undefeated this season, SSC sports director Cristiano Giuntoli said on the sidelines of the 3-0 win in the Champions League against Glasgow Rangers , who made the group victory probable “DAZN” (quoted via Fabrizio Romano): “We won’t sign any players in January, we don’t have to change anything in this team. We’re playing great and, as of now, we’re not planning any transfers.”

Despite the departure of top performers such as Kalidou Koulibaly (31), Fabián Ruiz (26) and Lorenzo Insigne (31), Napoli have marched into the league and “premier class” this season, having won all of the last twelve games. This is also due to the good transfer yield with newcomers such as Giovanni Simeone (27), who won twice against Rangers, strike partner Giacomo Raspadori (22), defender Min-jae Kim (22) and, above all, winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia (21).
There had also been initial rumors about the Georgian as a result of his outstanding start to the season with seven goals and eight assists after his €10 million move from Dinamo Batumi. Giuntoli relegated them to the realm of fables: “I can tell you that Kvaratskhelia is 100 percent untouchable. He is absolutely not on the market.” The national player is tied until 2027.
